PIA Automation presented smart solutions for the high-end manufacturing of the future at the AHTE in Shanghai. The AHTE, which took place from July 3 to 6, is a leading exhibition for automation solutions for production and assembly. PIA presented itself on an impressive booth (168 m²), focusing on the localization of intelligent assembly technology.

The numerous visitors were enthusiastic about the exhibit, an interlinked system consisting of three modules: 1. manual workstation with two-hand robot ABB Yumi, 2. joining module, 3. CGM rotary indexing table. On this machine, a pen was personalized laser-marked and packed in a PIA gift box. Next to this was the PIA Digital Office: visitors were able to view the status of the system live on two screens via the specially programmed PIA App and find out how many gifts had already been handed out to visitors. On the second screen, piaOptimum showed how to make machines transparent and easy to optimize for maximum availability.

In cooperation with Rockwell Automation, a new innovative AR data goggle was presented. These glasses allow 3D data, graphics and PDFs to be displayed in the visitor's field of vision. This result in a multitude of possibilities that help the operators to retrofit the system, illustrate the status of the system or support the service personnel with AR support.

The visit of Jeff Wang, CEO of the Joyson Group, at the PIA booth underlined the importance of the exhibition for the automation market in China. Big Data, Cloud Computing, 5G and other technologies have become an important starting point for developments within the manufacturing industry. The need for automation and intelligent transformation is growing. According to the latest data from IDC, China will have the world's largest robot market in the future, accounting for more than 38% of total global revenue by 2022. A unique opportunity for automation specialist PIA.
