The increasingly rapid spread of Covid-19 in most parts of the world is creating a rising demand for surgical masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE).

PIA will help to quickly overcome these bottlenecks and offers fully automated assembly lines for the high-speed manufacturing of face masks. Orders for 21 of these systems have already been received.

Each equipment will be able to produce up to 140,000 pieces per day – capable to cover multiple product variants of disposable two-, three-, or four-layered masks. The manufacturing process includes feeding of filter material, folding and pressing, nose bridge clamp feeding, mask forming, mask cutting, ear band welding, packaging and other auxiliary processes.

To meet increasing global demands, machines will be manufactured at PIA facilities in China, Germany and the U.S.A. The standardized equipment design will allow shortened delivery times and competitive pricing.
