MAJOR ORDER FOR E-DRIVES

One of the largest orders in the company's history has now been secured by PIA Automation at its Grambach site in Austria. A well-known German car manufacturer placed an order for an assembly line for e-drives in the double-digit million range and held out the prospect of further opportunities for cooperation.

For PIA Automation, the order for a high-tech and modularly expandable production plant for e-drives is one of the biggest corporate successes in the company's history. The German car manufacturer was convinced by the company's expertise and many years of experience in automation technology. Nikolaus Szlavik, chairman and managing director at PIA Automation Austria, is certain that the company's early entry into electromobility was a key success factor in sealing the deal. "At PIA, we recognized early on that our path would lead us toward sustainable production systems that conserve resources in the long term. Thanks to our years of experience in automation technology, we can deliver high-end products to our customers." The planned order is a milestone for the company and was sealed in October after a long negotiation phase.

New concepts for sustainable automotive solutions

At PIA, new solutions and production systems are continuously being developed to further promote progress in the assembly of sustainable automotive solutions. The planned production line for e-drives has the potential for market penetration and sets new standards with regard to the production of components for electric cars. "At PIA, new strategies and product approaches are developed in-house together with customers. We are also engaged in an intensive exchange with research institutes in order not only to guarantee production standards, but also to continuously develop them further. We are convinced that our strategies and the adaptation of our products to new developments are an advantage for us in winning orders," says Franz Reiter, also Managing Director at PIA Automation Austria, explaining the group's strategy.

Collaboration across locations

The new assembly plant is to enable a throughput time of 100,000 units per year and be modularly expandable. In order to successfully implement the high customer requirements, PIA relies on global expertise in the automotive sector and a close exchange between the various locations. The high utilization of the project as well as further orders in the automotive sector are currently also further strengthening the cooperation with the two subsidiaries of the Austrian PIA site "PIA Service Standort Deutschland" and "PIA Automation Kroatien". The team, consisting of more than 400 employees, will be continuously expanded in the following months in order to meet the order volume.
