PIA offers a wide range of training opportunities and a broad spectrum of technical professions, e.g. mechatronics technician, mechatronics technician specializing in PLC, technical product designer, machining mechanic, electrical engineer, mechanical engineer, plant logistics specialist and many more.

Automated production of all kinds of goods is a future-proof industry! We are strong in the automotive, consumer goods, medical technology and other interesting sectors.

We offer young people with an interest in technology the opportunity to develop their careers in these fields. For us, self-initiative, a thirst for research and inventiveness are just as important as attention to detail.

At PIA you’ll get to know a lot of interesting specialist fields, such as PLC programming, where you’ll learn how to control robots correctly, or design, where you’ll be taught how to design systems that automatically produce components in high volumes in the automotive and pharmaceutical industries.

Are you studying for a technical degree and looking for an interesting practical training opportunity? Welcome to PIA in the world of automation! “World” here really does means “worldwide”. Our sites on three continents offer career starters a wealth of professional perspectives.

Practical training for students – general information (Germany)

We offer you both basic technical training and advanced technical training (and also practical semesters). Our offers target applicants for mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, medical technology, information technology and industrial engineering study courses.

Basic practical training

  • 6 to 12 weeks

Main practical training courses

  • 22 weeks

You will receive compensation for expenses during your practical training.

Timeframes

Basic practical training courses are offered exclusively for the following timeframes:

  • February to July
  • Mid-September to October

As a motivated student, you will work in our mechanical design department during your practical training – and you will also have the opportunity to participate in the development process of customer-specific facilities. You will support our team in the design of customer-specific assembly lines, using the Solid Works 3D CAD system.

Requirements

You are studying mechanical engineering or a comparable subject (Bachelor, Master or Diplom)

  • You are able to complete your practical training with us for a period of least 4 to 6 months
  • Your strengths are technical creativity, curiosity, commitment, a capacity for teamwork and an independent way of working
  • You have a good grounding in design and a 3D CAD system, preferably Solid Works

In coordination with the mechanical design department, you will be responsible for planning and designing a process for a complex assembly and/or testing facility in the fields of automotive engineering, electrical engineering, consumer goods or medical technology. Standardized basic systems and the Solid Works 3D CAD system will be available as a foundation for your work. Getting to know the day-to-day business of a production-related design completes your spectrum of tasks.

Hier kannst Du die Bereiche Maschinenbau, Elektrotechnik, Mechatronik und Zerspanungstechnik kennenlernen.
