PIA opens second Chinese site

Going the next step of leveraging PIA’s market potential in China, a second production facility was opened in Suzhou. This site guarantees direct access to the local pool of talent, which facilitates the recruitment of technicians and engineers. Its proximity to existing and potential new customers in Suzhou and Shanghai also serves us well.

But why Suzhou? "Suzhou is an open-minded city full of innovative atmosphere for the automation industry. With the growing demand for high-end industrial automation solutions, the global advanced manufacturing industry in Suzhou Industrial Park has become one of the strongest high-level technology intensive region in China", adds Guo Zhiming. With the site in Suzhou, PIA enters a new important chapter for its business development in China. In addition, the huge market growth potential is also an important reason for the increasing investment in China. According to the latest data from IDC, China will have the world's largest robot market in the future, accounting for more than 38% of total global revenue by 2022.

Currently, cooperative projects are being implemented between PIA’s Chinese branches (Ningbo, Suzhou) and other sites in Europe as well as in North America. All these activities – and the planning of further subsidiaries in China – are just the starting point for the expansion in the Chinese market.
