PIA Automation has developed a new singling and assembly technology for razor cutting units. The recipe for success for the multi-blade assembly: the combination of advanced research and the latest technology. The solution maximizes both efficiency and quality.

The technology allows the blades to be precisely welded onto the carrier frame or inserted into the cutting unit One challenge was to separate the razor blades from the blade magazine - this requires meticulous precision due to the thin blade thickness.

Equally demanding was the repeatable positioning of the individual blades on the carrier frame, which is crucial for optimal shaving results. Smooth interaction of the carrier frame handling and the multi-blade station was crucial for this.

After extensive tests, test installations and prototype developments with a leading razor manufacturer, PIA Automation has now successfully implemented the solution which can be optimally scaled in terms of output quantity and ensures high availability of the entire system. With this solution, PIA has fulfilled all of the customers’ requirements.
