With this type of system, the component itself serves as the transport medium through the machine. This means that no additional workpiece carrier is required. The components are transported from one process step to the next via so-called transport fingers. Several fingers lined up in a row are called "comb transport". With the very fast servo-controlled comb feed, paired with real and virtual cam controls, the system achieves maximum flexibility, set-up times remain short, and the prerequisite for the production of small batch sizes with a high degree of utilization (OEE) is optimal.
After the pin headers have been fitted with various types of solder pins, which are provided by means of a solder pin belt, the components are finally checked before being packed in trays or boxes. The wobble circle test of each pin header is carried out using an integrated camera control, so that the quality requirements are ensured even with a high-speed system.
