On Tuesday, November 15, 2022, PIA Automation Croatia celebrated the opening of its new facility in Sesvete-Kraljevec, a suburb of the Croatian metropolis of Zagreb.

The official opening ceremony of the new 6,300 m² company location started precisely at 12:00 with more than 130 guests accepting the invitation to Sesvete-Kraljevec. Guests included representatives of the authorities, customers, employees as well as long-standing suppliers and partners. At the official inauguration of the new building, Co-CEO of the PIA Group, Thomas Ernst, Managing Director of PIA Automation Austria, Nikolaus Szlavik and Matjaz Zizmond, Managing Director of PIA Automation Croatia, cut the symbolic red ribbon at the entrance.

During the past year, the PIA Automation Croatia offices and factory were moved to the other side of the capital Zagreb to create more space for the production solutions of tomorrow. With this move, PIA Automation sent a clear signal of its planned future growth. Thanks to the close cooperation with its parent location, PIA Automation Austria, which intensively supported the subsidiary's expansion efforts through the exchange of experience and skills, the project was able to be implemented quickly. "After just under a year, we are now standing in front of our modern new building with great joy. We are very proud that we were able to realise this project together in such a short time," says Nikolaus Szlavik.

Managing Director Matjaz Zizmond also sees the move as a clear sign of the further expansion of the company's activities in Croatia. "In order to address the increased number of orders in the automotive industry, especially in e-mobility, we have massively expanded our production areas. With a size of 6,300m², the new building is five times larger than the old one and offers a signifcantly expanded space for employees and production", says Zizmond. Production lines for multiple customers can now be assembled simultaneously in the more than 5,000m² of production space. PIA Automation Croatia currently has 80 employees with a plan to have more than 300 employees working at the PIA Automation Croatia facility by 2025.
