The Electrician is responsible for the successful wiring of electrical equipment in the execution of the project according to contractual terms and customer specifications. The incumbent is responsible for the Work from process work instructions and test procedures to complete tasks along with monitoring and recording related documentation to meet quality requirements of the project. The incumbent is responsible for determining the resources required for the project and requests the resources from the appropriate functional manager. The incumbent will retain a working environment conducive to positive morale, individual style, quality, creativity and teamwork. The incumbent will ensure resolution of problems.

  • Read, interpret and follow drawings, schematics, diagrams,specifications, work orders or reports.
  • Determines or follows methods and sequence of operations inperforming various complex electronic assembly operations
  • Work from process work instructions and test procedures tocomplete tasks along with monitoring and recording relateddocumentation to meet quality requirements
  • Physical assembly and wiring of industrial control panels
  • Build electrical subsystems including cables and electrical cabinetsinvolving pneumatic, electrical and electronic components
  • Mount devices to back panels and enclosures using a variety ofmethods including drilling and tapping steel
  • Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits
  • Tag components
  • Wire crimping and harnessing.
  • Adjust or repair electrical equipment.
  • Test product to ensure conformance to specifications and testfunctional performance
  • Build products such as electric motors, computers, electronic controldevices, and sensing equipment.
  • Ability to use tools of the trade including component fine-pitchsoldering and de-soldering tools effectively in the work
  • Performs various complex electronic assembly operations such asHarnessing and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) builds.
  • Route and bundle wires and cables neatly and according toestablished electrical standards
  • Verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance todrawings, or schematics specifications, using instruments, such asmicrometers, calipers, and height gauges.
  • Assemble electrical or electronic systems or support structures andinstall components, units, subassemblies, wiring, or assemblycasings, using rivets, bolts, soldering or micro-welding equipment.
  • Perform tests on electrical assemblies during the production process
  • Populate or modify/replace components on printed circuit boardassemblies.
  • Ensures that quality checks are completed throughout themanufacturing process.
  • Electrical assembler may operate machinery in the production of thefinished product.
  • Records information on production records, logs and other reportforms
  • Reworks and repairs defective units rejected by inspection or testpersonnel.
  • Maintains appropriate communication with supervisor to ensureefficient and timely service
  • Follows any safety regulations necessary and wears appropriatepersonal protective equipment (PPE) as required
  • Cleans working area prior to leaving each job

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Experience in performing various complex electronic assemblyoperations such as Harnessing and Circuit Card Assembly (CCA)builds
  • Electrical Assembly or Industrial Electrician: 2 years

Education Requirements:

  • Post-secondary certificate in related field or 2 years relatedexperience
  • Must be able to Read, interpret and follow drawings, schematics,diagrams, specifications, work orders or reports.
  • Ability to use small hand tools and have eye-hand coordination andmanual dexterity
  • Must have attention to detail and initiative to constantly learn newthings and strive to make the entire team successful
  • Inspect wiring installations, assemblies, and circuits
  • Must have working knowledge and experience performing fine-pitchsoldering
  • Must be able to operate microscope for extended periods of time,follow drawings, torque tools, measuring devices.
  • Basic knowledge of electricity and electrical circuits
  • General knowledge of custom automation equipment
  • Ability to read Bill of Materials
  • Proficient use in Microsoft word, outlook and excel
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Sitting, standing, walking, lift/ Push/Pull /Carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Operate heavy machinery
